Woodwinds & Brass
Membership
- Open to all JCSU students and subsidiary community colleges
- Enroll in MUS 210 each year of participation
- Scholarship members also enroll in Symphonic Band (MUS 211) in the spring
The Audition
- All major scales, minimum up to 4 sharps and 4 flats
- Chromatic scale
- Two prepared etudes, one lyrical and one technical
- Sight reading
- Candidates get up to two attempts to pass
Rehearsal
- Monday through Friday, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
- Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
- Report four to five hours before kickoff on game day
