What It Takes
Percussion Audition
- Mallets: major and chromatic scales, general reading fluency
- Snare: the 26 standard rudiments open–close–open; all 40 PAS rudiments preferred
- Snare: prepared etude and a sight-reading excerpt
- Timpani: prepared etude and tuning exercise
- Auxiliary: crash and suspended cymbals, tambourine, chimes and more
